My interest in psychology began long before I knew a name for it. I have always been fascinated by human behaviour — what shapes us, why we think, feel or act the way we do, and how people create meaningful change. While studying for a Marketing degree, a single psychology paper sparked something inside me.
That journey became more formal while I was living in Sydney and trained in Holistic Counselling. This involved intensive personal work, including being a client myself. I was particularly drawn to therapeutic approaches that went beyond talking — and it was during this time that I experienced hypnosis for the first time. It was powerful, insightful and healing in a way I had not experienced before.
After returning to New Zealand, I completed my counselling training, worked in other roles and eventually chose to study Clinical Hypnotherapy.
In my experience, counselling and hypnotherapy complement each other beautifully. Counselling offers a space for exploration, reflection and insight; hypnotherapy supports access to the subconscious mind, where deeper shifts can begin. I believe people already hold their own answers — my calling is to support clients in uncovering those answers with empathy, respect and collaboration.
A teacher once told me, “You are no better than your clients — they are just like you on a different day.” That has always stayed with me. We are all evolving, and I feel privileged to walk alongside others on their path to greater clarity, self-understanding and empowerment. For me, there is no more important work.
